First things first, sorry that it’s coming today, not yesterday, but I was literally in a train to another city to buy the album, because is was unavailable in my city lol
Also no Shy away or Choker, since I wanted it to be my first thoughts and I heard them already
Yes,I also heard Saturday, but never written review for it here so I will put it here!
Okay let’s go!
Good day
It’s such a good intro to a whole album, first 15-20 seconds already gives amazing feel of what the album whould sound like
It’s kinda like a TV show jingle? Idk just had that feel lol
For sure it sounds like musical piece, like it’s a begining of a musical of Scaled and Icy
Love the piano and little ukulele there
Lyrics are just 100% top style, happy song with sad lyrics
The outside
I was vibing, noding my head when the lyrics “Up and down, they’re nodding / Heads are moving up and down” came and I was like “how the hell did he know” haha
Also beginning reminded me a little of Vessel maybe even Self-titled,but I think Tyler thinks so too -> “I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this one before”
Such a nice song, you can just sit and vibe to it
I literally gasped when rap part came
And double rap part? Love that even more
My favourite lyric must be “Little did they know / That they can’t touch me (Touch me) / I’m vibing, vibing, yeah” - they just hits hard. When people tried to bring me down in my life, but little did they know I won’t even care, because I’m always vibing in my own bubble (hope that makes sense lol)
Saturday
I just wanna stand up and dance to it
Fun fact - it’s my best friend favourite song out of album and she doesn’t even listen to pilots usually,so that’s nice
The random breaks surprised me,but now I love them, they make this song sound so unique
My heart literally melts at the bridge part,Jenna is so suportive towards Tyler,it’s so amazing
The high note was so high that at first I thought that Jenna was singing it,but in like a second I was like “oh no wait it is Tyler” haha
Never Take It
The instruments hits hard in this one
Josh did amazing job with the drums, but he always does let’s be real
Bass in the beginning set an amazing feeling
And the electric guitar? 11/10
Also Tyler boasting in the lyrics that he taught himself how to play guitar and later doing that guitar solo? That’s some king shit right there
I see the lyrics as very lore-Dema focused, but later about it in theories because I think I would write them too
I’s kinda like Tyler’s song to Josh? “You and I, we’ll nеver take it” WE like Josh and Tyler who would never take what Dema does to them
Mulberry Street (I am already excided, because the title souds so pretty)
First 6 seconds and I feel Legend vibes haha
So “Keep your sunny days” lyrics are here, interesing how they are used in this context. He is saying to somebody to keep sunny days,he’s okay with rain. I was expecting something different with this lyric, more in a context of “keep your sunny days because they are helping you during a hard time” or something along those lines. I am surprised, but on a very positive note
Simple piano and drums, perfect combination. Just 100% twenty one pilots song
I feel like the lyrics are also lore focused
Also the lyrics are beautiful, like Tyler telling us to be unique and to do our thing, don’t care about anybody else
Mulberry Street sounds like a safe place, where you can be yourself and no one would judge you for it
I already know that this is going to be one of my comfort songs, like My blood from Trench
This little “So good to see you”, I nearly cried and it’s 2nd time when I nearly cried and we are just 7 songs in
Formidable
Okay 17 seconds in and I have vibe of “Friday I’m In Love” by The cure haha
And I cried,amazing
This one hit me hard, hader that I thought it would
It’s like the lyrics are sung for everyone in clique, like Tyler is telling us that he is here for every single one of us. That we are powerful even if we feel so weak that we could disapear
Another comfort song, that will help me during dark times, I already know
I don’t know if it’s only lyrics that makes me so emotional or also the instuments, they doesn’t feel sad on their own,but with those words they become formidable (pun fully intended) and hits right in the heart
Bounce Man
I was just cring and now I am vibing again, this album is emotional rollercoaster
Ukulele,ukulele,ukulele
And was it flute that I heard?
Hand claps would go so hard when they perform it during livestream
Oh wait,they didn’t perform it :////
Again, lyrics sounds like this song is sung for Josh “Come to the house, man, we’ll sing one more song”
Also if Tyler in “I’ll let my old lady know” refering to Jenna, because he would let her know that his friend is coming over,I am dead lol
If Good Day felt like beginning of a musical,Bounce Man feels like ending of it. But we have 2 songs left so the journey is not finishing yet
Overal verdict - this is an one bouncy song haha
No Chances
Okay before hearing it,I think it would be very sad, ballad like song. You know just piano, vocals and heartbreaking lyrics. Let’s see if I am right
I was wrong,oh so wrong
It’s more like hip hop than ballad
“We come for you, no chances"part is so powerful I can’t even express it. Plus the funky instrumental during that part. This part feels like it’s glowing,I see red, maybe brow neons flickering haha
Again,lore oriented lyrics
I also think that this song references a lot of lyrics from songs that came earlier in the album
Ending makes me feel like am floating
Some songs are simple, just two, three instruments and this one is so different, yet fits perfectly with other songs
Now this song is like a turn in this story, we thought that everything is alright and musical ended with Bounce Man,the curtain fell and we can go home. But then all from nowhere Bishops or villans comes back with “We come for you, no chances”
I feel like I want to write movie script based on this album now haha
Redecorate
Wow this song gave me kind of what I was expecting from No Chances, yet we have more instruments here
We are back to simplicity, that’s nice as well
Let’s talk about lyrics video. I wonder if crossed out words are there because this is Tyler’s handwriting and he just scanned whole page from notebook or something and put it here,or this crossed out lyrics are lore oriented and we should talk about it in theories. See that’s a problem with top, even things like that feels like they have deeper meaning haha
This song is more like true ending to a musical (take shot everytime I wrote musical lol),we were expecting happy ending from Bounce Man,but we got Redecorate
But I am not sure if it’s tragic ending either. It feels more like an open ending,or just end of chapter since we know that the story is not over yet (Tyler’s wors, not mine)
Tyler has such a nice flow in this song
“With the bells and the whistles scaled back / Like an isolated track” - I see what you did there
Can somebody tell me if I am the only one that heard cow bells in the very end of an outro? Or I am going insane already?
Amazing way to end this part of chapter, this album, but now I am sad that this is over :((((
